Quantum x AI: a two-way street

IQM Quantum Computers is recognised as the leading European provider of superconducting quantum computers. The company combines quantum computing and AI to achieve advances in error correction, cyber security and data-based applications such as fraud detection.

Quantum Photonics 2025
Erfurt, Germany

IQM Quantum Computers is the leading and commercially most successful European quantum
computing vendor with superconducting Qubits as Qubit modality. Since IQM is a full stack
provider of quantum computers our R&D team has multiple touchpoints with AI. The interaction of Quantum and AI is in both directions. AI enhances the quantum computers on calibration, error mitigation and error correction, and transpilation. Quantum gives a different twist to probability distributions and with that Quantum has the potential to improve AI. The progress of both direction is mapped on the IQM product roadmap. As use case example the process control for polymer production is presented. On a fraud detection use case the enhancement of cybersecurity with Quantum Machine Learning (QML) is demonstrated. Quantum will also improve generative ML for complex data. At IQM, we believe that Quantum AI will follow a trajectory similar to that of classical Artificial Intelligence (AI).
