Quantum security in networks today and tomorrow -- requirements, challenges and opportunities
Quantum security is essential for us as a digitalisation partner of the Bundeswehr. We are already implementing PQC systems and are investigating QKD as the next step - including specific integration examples, challenges and future potential.
Quantum security plays a seminal role for us as the Bundeswehr's primary digitalisation partner. In order to be prepared for the threat posed by quantum computers, we are already arming ourselves today for the cyberattacks of tomorrow. We are already implementing PQC systems at. QKD is seen as a possible next step for an even higher level of security against the new threat. In our presentation, we will outline the integration of QKD into an existing optical network using a real example from today's perspective and discuss specific requirements for QKD, existing integration challenges and future
possibilities of this new technology.
